Help provide assistance to those in need

The mission of Daily Bread For All Inc. is to carry out humanitarian actions, charitable activities, and provide assistance to people in need. It strives to accomplish that by providing free meals to the homeless, serving free bakery and food pantry items to people in need who qualify, collecting and distributing clothing to people in need, assisting and refering people to find help and running a food rescue / food recovery program.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of skilled and unskilled areas from grants and research writing to maintaining a social network to basic building repair and maintenance.

Children’s services provider seeks volunteers

The mission of Beacon of Hope is to strengthen families and communities. To achieve that it implements programs to ensure that the children in various communities (Old Fourth Ward, Thomasville Heights, Vine City- Mechanicsville, Eastlake and the Latino- American Buford Highway area) thrive at home,school and in their community. The organization serves multi-cultural children, youth and adults and offers affordable and accessible developmental child care for ages 0-5 years and after care and teen mentoring programs for middle and high school students.

Volunteer opportunities vary: office assistant, field trip chaperones, bus attendants, marketing planner/recruiter, event planner, website improvements/social media support, kitchen assistant, receptionist, building and grounds maintenance and custodian assistant.

City of Dunwoody’s MLK Jr. Day of Service

The city of Dunwoody, in partnership with the Dunwoody-Atlanta Chapter of Jack and Jill of America Inc. and in corporation with Brighton Gardens, the Community Assistance Center, Country Gardens, the Dunwoody Nature Center, I Care Atlanta Inc., The Daffodil Project and Trees Atlanta have come together to host the second annual MLK Jr. Day of Service in Dunwoody.

This is a free event for all ages to give back to the community. Sign-up for an opportunity to participate by visiting the Dunwoody Parks Registration Portal. Opportunities include: planting trees, cleaning up a Dunwoody park, daffodil planting, sharing time at local senior living centers, or completing projects at the CAC or at I Care Atlanta, Inc. Volunteers can also make a donation of a new or gently used coat or non-perishable food items to one of the donation bins on the day of the event at the pavilion at Brook Run Park.

Volunteers will check-in at 8:30 a.m.at the pavilion at Brook Run Park where the morning will begin with registration, donuts, coffee, music and cool giveaways. Volunteers can either stay in Brook Run Park or drive to their selected volunteer location.
