Assemble gifts of love for seniors

Neighbor Love, a local nonprofit, is hosting a Valentine’s party and giving gift bags to seniors at four nursing homes in metro Atlanta on Feb. 13, 14 and 15. The goal is to bless a total of 700 seniors with gift bags this Valentine’s at four nursing homes

Volunteers are needed to help assemble bags and deliver bags.

Calling all animal lovers

Love puppies and kitties? How about volunteering at the Forsyth County Animal Shelter.

The organization is hosting an orientation this month. The shelter’s hours for adoptions are 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and the shelter’s hours to drop-off or reclaim an animal are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

Thrift store associate needed

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Atlanta empowers people, regardless of their background, ethnicity, or faith, to achieve self-sufficiency by offering financial, material, educational, and spiritual support and by collaborating with others to develop and deliver programs and services that help those in need.

Volunteers in our Thrift Stores assist with the daily operation of the store. Duties include: sorting donated items, cleaning, straightening items on the sales floor, assisting customers, cashier.

Build a high tunnel for a farm

Gilliam’s Community Garden just off Oakland Drive , and near the Oakland City Park in Southwest Atlanta is looking for volunteers to help build a high tunnel. The organization is always looking for individuals or groups to volunteer for various gardening projects. If you would like to help with fence installation, irrigation installation, tilling, seasonal garden clean-up, or anything else. Friendly visitors sought for visually impaired

The Center for the Visually Impaired is seeking volunteers to be friendly visitors for our clients. Such services may include, reading a book, reading mail, conversation, writing letters, etc.

Many of our clients are homebound and isolated and benefit from the practicality of the service and the personal contact.
