A 4-year-old northwest Georgia girl died Tuesday after she was found unresponsive in a swimming pool at home over the weekend, an official said.
Lucia Margaret Johnson, 4, died at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, Floyd County Coroner Barry Henderson told the Rome News-Tribune.
Just before 8 p.m. Saturday, crews responded to the family home, according to Rome police. The child was initially treated at Floyd Medical Center before being taken to Egleston, according to the newspaper report.
The GBI will perform an autopsy on the girl’s body, Henderson said.
An online fundraiser was set up for the family.
