Police presence in Lawrenceville will be a little more palpable after this week.

A giant badge has been installed at the front of the new headquarters building for the Lawrenceville Police Department at 300 Jackson Street. Department spokesman Capt. Greg Vaughn says he has searched the Internet and can find no other badge that even compares in size.

The badge not only looks like those worn by sworn officers, it was also manufactured in the same way. A brief ceremony will mark the installation of the badge at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
