The Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra will expand its program offerings for the fall 2019 season.

The Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra has announced it will expand its program lineup for young musicians for the fall 2019 season.

The organization, which is part of Marietta-based Georgia Symphony Orchestra, will expand from four to five orchestras, and the additional program will cater to elementary and middle school students.

It will also add a string-only chamber ensemble and flute choir, and align its current string and bass quartets as honors-level ensembles. The organization’s Jazz and Percussion ensembles and Youth Chorus will continue.

“The GYSO mission is one of inclusiveness, providing a diversity of opportunities to a wide range of ages and performance levels,” said Nathaniel Parker, DMA, associate conductor of the GSO and music director and conductor of the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra.

The group is the largest youth orchestra program in the southeast, and serves musicians from 17 metro Atlanta counties.

Auditions are being held for the fall 2019 season. You can learn more by visiting the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra website.
