The funeral was held Tuesday for a Georgia teenager who died while riding in a weekend motocross event in Alabama.

Daniel Tyler Reynolds of Summerville, a 17-year-old senior at Chattooga High School, was killed Saturday at the Northeast Alabama Agribusiness Center in Rainsville in what Rainsville police Chief Charles Centers called a “freak accident.”

The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported that Reynolds lost control of his motorcycle during a jump and slammed into a wall during the Tri-State Arenacross race.

Reynolds had been competing in motorcycle races for just over a year, the newspaper reported.
