Gainesville police are looking for the person or persons who broke into a Georgia Power facility over the weekend and stole tools and copper wiring from line trucks.

The break-in occurred late Friday night or early Saturday at the utility's facility on Skelton Road in Gainesville, police spokesman Kevin Holbrook said.

Hobrook told the AJC that the thief or thieves forced entry into a fenced area, then took tools, copper wiring and wiring components from at least 10 trucks and trailers.

A storage building at the facility was also broken into, and wiring and wiring components taken from there, he said.

Holbrook said Georgia Power officials were still tallying up the amount of items stolen, but said it was "well over $10,000."
