Georgia Power plans to replace Duluth’s existing exterior cobra head light fixtures with new LED fixtures. Although the city will not incur any expense for the fixture replacement, Georgia Power will adjust their rate to correspond with the new energy usage for the fixtures, thus keeping the city’s current monthly bill the same.

According to Georgia Power, the new LED fixtures provide better light coverage and are anticipated to have long-term maintenance benefits.

The Duluth City Council will formally authorize the project at the city’s Nov. 9 council meeting.
