A woman originally from Albany in South Georgia was killed Wednesday in a deadly shooting rampage in Seattle.

Kimberly Layfield was among the four people gunned down in Cafe Racer when a man armed with two .45-caliber handguns opened fire.

Police said Ian Lee Stawicki, 40, fled the scene and carjacked a female motorist, killing her before escaping in her SUV. He shot himself as police closed in on him and later died.

Layfield's cousin Jaycie Holland told Channel 2 Action News that Kimberly was smart, funny and sweet, and had mentioned the coffee shop during her recent family visit.

"[She] was actually telling us about the cafe on Sunday when we ate dinner with her," Holland said. "And she showed us some pictures and that she liked to go there and eat breakfast, and those were her friends."

Layfield had lived in Seattle for 10 years, her aunt Sheilah Holland told The Associated Press. She said Layfield returned to Seattle on Monday after spending several weeks in Georgia to celebrate her grandmother's 103rd birthday.

Now the family is making funeral arrangements and preparing to bring Layfield's body back to Georgia.
