The Georgia State Patrol and Florida Highway Patrol have teamed up to produce an anti-DUI public service announcement aimed at sports fans headed to Jacksonville for this weekend’s Georgia-Florida football game.

"He roots for Florida, I root for Georgia," GSP Sgt. David Herring says in video, nodding to FHP Trooper Philip Delgado. "But when it comes to impaired driving, we're on the same team," Delgado responds in the clip, which can be seen on YouTube and will be shown in EverBank Field during Saturday's game.

“Georgia-Florida weekend is a festive time for both colleges and their fans, but fans must remember to use a sober designated driver if alcohol consumption will be part of the celebrations,” said Col. Mark McDonough, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Public Safety. “Troopers from both states will not hesitate to arrest an impaired driver and tow their vehicle, so plan ahead and be safe.”

Katie Fallon, spokeswoman for Georgia's Governor's Office of Highway Safety, said that while the two states have often worked together in border enforcement campaigns, this is the first time they have jointly reached out to football fans through use of in-stadium video.
