Gwinnett Department of Transportation will begin soon on a project to replace the bridge over Line Creek in Sugar Hill. The project will lengthen and widen the Whitehead Road bridge to make it safer for vehicles passing across the bridge. The project will also clear the flood elevation without compromising the structure.

The new bridge will be almost double the length of the existing one. The road closure will be clearly marked with a detour that should last no more than 6 months. According to GDOT, with weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed in Oct. Questions: dotconstruction@gwinnettcounty.com.
