After four years and $3 million extra on the taxpayer tab, the road project at Interstate 285 and Atlanta Road should be done by the end of this month.

The roadwork, which had an estimated $40 million pricetag, was stalled a year by a bad bridge design, a land dispute and weather delays, spokeswoman Natalie Dale told Channel 2 Action News.

“We want them to know how sorry we are for the inconvenience we've caused,” Dale said. “Certainly, when we go into a project like this this isn’t how we want the ending outcome to be.”
