The Georgia Department of Transportation will begin setting bridge beams on the new interchange at Ga. 316 and Ga. 81 at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22. This work will take place on the west bound side of Ga. 316 and Ga. 81 with a closure of the inside lane. A pilot car will pace traffic while the beams are set in place. This work will continue until 5:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

This new interchange project was awarded to CMES Inc. in July 2017 and has a scheduled completion date of October 2020. The project includes widening and reconstruction on Ga. 316 at Ga. 81 and adds a bridge over Ga. 316.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and drive safely through the work zone.
