Maintenance crews this week started repairing and deep patching of deteriorating asphalt spots on Ga. 108 in northwest Cherokee County, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced.

Ga. 108 begins in Sutalee and runs northeast, through Waleska, to Tate in Pickens County. Work will proceed daily from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and temporary lane closures may be necessary, GDOT said.

The work is “weather permitting” and subject to change. Deep patching is one of the methods GDOT uses to repair deteriorated, settled, cracked and dislodged pavement, officials said.
