Work will begin soon yet another resurfacing project on I-75 north of Atlanta, as the Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded a $10.3 million contract covering 14.4 miles of the interstate in Bartow County.
C.W. Matthews Contracting Co. Inc., Marietta, won the contract to resurface I-75 beginning north of Glade Road, Acworth, and ending just south of Chatsworth Highway (U.S. 411), Cartersville, GDOT announced.
Information on construction and lane closure schedules will be forthcoming before work begins, GDOT says. The project is expected to be completed by the end of April 2019.
C.W. Matthews previously won a $37.6 million contract to resurface 19.2 miles of I-75 between Calhoun and Dalton in Gordon and Whitfield counties. That project is to be finished by the end of March 2019.
Resurfacing already is under way of 11 miles of the interstate in Cobb County, from the Chattahoochee River to just north of Allgood Road.
