Atlanta is in line to receive a state grant for $2.8 million to resurface nearly 24 miles of city streets.

The City Council on Monday approved an ordinance by Council Member C.T. Martin authorizing the mayor to enter into an agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation for funds out of GDOT’s Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant program.

Funding comes from motor fuel taxes collected in 2015. The city will be responsible for all preparatory work, including milling and point repairs prior to resurfacing.
