The Georgia Department of Transportation announced it is working with Forsyth County on upcoming intersection improvements on Post Road (Ga. 371) at Bentley and Pittman roads.

Crews will enlarge the existing concrete island on the south side of Bentley; drivers will be able to turn right to go south on Post, but no left turns to northbound Post will be allowed, GDOT said. Left turns from Post to Bentley will remain.

“Specific work hours and lane closures will be communicated in the coming weeks,” GDOT said. “Currently, the completion date for these improvements is Friday, Nov. 8.”

Meanwhile, Forsyth is partnering with the state on a traffic signal project at nearby Post and Pittman roads. The county will design the signal, apply for the permit and install the device, and the state will provide the signal equipment.

“This collaborative effort will allow this project to be done quickly and increase safety for Post Road and Pittman Road drivers,” GDOT said.
