Gas prices have jumped nearly a dime across metro Atlanta since this time last week, but you can still find a few stations selling fuel for less than $3 a gallon.

Wednesday’s average price for a gallon of regular unleaded of $3.18 a gallon was 6 cents a cheaper than the national average, according to atlantagasprices.com, a website that tracks what Atlantans pay at the pump.

The average price in metro Atlanta one week ago was $3.09 a gallon, the website said.

Wednesday morning’s lowest price reported by the website was $2.94 at numerous warehouse clubs around town.

The reasons for the rising prices were not clear, but crude oil prices have been rising.

Oil prices hovered above $101 a barrel Wednesday amid investor concern that rising Middle East tensions could disrupt crude supplies.

Benchmark crude for February delivery rose 6 cents to $101.40 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract rose $1.66 to settle at $101.34 in New York on Tuesday.
