Prepare yourself for pump shock.

Average gas prices across metro Atlanta Monday were 17 cents a gallon higher Monday than just a week ago, according to atlantagasprices.com, a website that tracks how much Atlantans pay for gasoline.

While Monday's average price was $3.36 a gallon for regular unleaded, a few stations were still selling gas for under $3.10 and the price at one station, a Kroger store in north Cobb County, was still at $2.99.

Metro Atlanta's average price on Monday was 2 cents a gallon more than the national average, according to the website.

The average price a month ago was $3.21, while one year ago, the average price of a gallon of gas across metro Atlanta was $3.00.

Over the past 12 months, the price bottomed out at $2.97 a gallon in early February 2011.
