A tractor-trailer hauling garbage wrecked Thursday afternoon in northeastern Cherokee County, spilling the trash.
The truck drove off Hightower Road, at the intersection of Yellow Creek Road, and went down an embankment before landing on its side, said Tim Cavender with the Cherokee County fire department.
The truck's driver was not injured, Cavender said. But piles of trash spilled out the truck when it flipped.
A hazmat crew helped contain a fuel spill from the truck, Cavender said.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the cause of the wreck, which only involved the truck.
