Three gang members pleaded guilty Monday in a shooting that paralyzed a 5-year-old girl and injured a 3-year-old boy at a South Fulton birthday party, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office announced in a news release.

The men – Demetrius Gordon, 25; Dewon Love, 27; and Andrevius Welch, 20 – pleaded guilty to aggravated battery, child cruelty, gang, gun and drug charges in the April 20, 2017 shooting on Buckhurst Drive, Fulton County DA spokesman Chris Hopper said in the release.

Between 10 and 15 children were inside a bouncy house when the men opened fire at a residence located on a cul-de-sac. Stray bullets hit the bouncy house, injuring two children inside it.

Fulton DA officials said the three men drove to the party, which included rival gang members. Partygoers approached the vehicle and noticed Gordon had a rifle.

One of the partygoers tried to grab the gun, but Gordon and Love opened fire from inside car as Welch drove them from the scene.

The girl was shot in the chest and abdomen, which caused a vertebrae fracture and spinal cord injury that left her permanently paralyzed below the waist, Hopper said. The boy was shot between the ribs, causing a flesh wound and permanent scarring.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Henry Newkirk gave Gordon and Love a 35-year sentence with 15 to be served in prison.  Welch was sentenced to 30 years with 15 to serve.
