The Fayette County Board of Education voted 5-0 Monday to approve $2 million worth of improvements to facilities at four of its high schools.

After touring the schools to review a variety of needs and receiving bids on several initial projects, the board agreed to proceed with building softball restrooms and concession stands at Fayette County, Sandy Creek and McIntosh, as well as stadium ticket booths at McIntosh and Starr’s Mill.

Science classroom renovations were also included in the project list for Sandy Creek.

Funds will come from SPLOST II sales tax revenue.
