Fulton County Schools has won first place in the 19th annual Magna Awards for engaging staff, parents and the general public in the two-year transition to charter system status that took effect in July.

The program is sponsored by the National School Boards Association’s American School Board Journal. It recognizes districts nationwide for advancing learning and encouraging community involvement.

This is the second time Fulton has won the award since the recognition program debuted in 1995. Fulton's winning entry will be posted online at www.asbj.com/magna.
