Safe Kids North Fulton will hold an event to offer car seat inspections and education — at no cost to parents and caregivers.

The event takes place Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Roswell Fire Station 5, 1200 Hembree Road, according to Roswell's Facebook page.

Caregivers will learn about correct installation and use of car seats, booster seats and seat belts, including registering car seats with the manufacturer to receive potential recall notifications.

The Roswell Fire Department launched Safe Kids North Fulton — a coalition to fight preventable injuries — in early 2016. It is an affiliate of Safe Kids Georgia and Safe Kids Worldwide and also includes the Roswell Police Department, Milton Fire Department, Sandy Springs Fire Rescue, Alpharetta Department of Public Safety and Johns Creek Fire Department.

Questions can be sent to the fire department by emailing Chris Cooper at ccooper@roswellgov.com.
