Fulton County library hours lengthened
Libraries in Fulton are extending their hours this spring.
Fulton County commissioners unanimously passed the county’s 2015 budget this week, which includes $1.9 million for the library system. The allocation will restore longer hours for Fulton County libraries, which were cut short due to budget reductions last year.
Interim Library Director Ann Haimes hails this as a great day for the library community. “We are meeting critical needs by restoring hours and public confidence in our libraries,” Haimes said.
Library hours will be restored to 2013 levels starting April 1. The new libraries in Wolf Creek and Palmetto are now open, and several new branches are scheduled to open this year.
