Milton has partnered with a natural gas company, and the city’s residents and businesses will receive a discount if they sign up for a plan with it.

Gas South — a natural gas company based in Atlanta — has announced its new partnership with Milton. With the addition of the city in north Fulton County, Gas South is available to customers in Buckhead, College Park, Fairburn, Hapeville, Roswell, Sandy Springs and Union City.

Residents and businesses in Milton who sign up for a Gas South plan will receive a two cent per therm discount on any rate plan. New residential and business customers from Milton do not have to pay a deposit, their connection fee is waived and if they enroll online, and they will receive a bill credit.

Milton's city council approved this partnership, by a vote of 6-1, at a meeting in early August.

“We’re excited to join other Georgia cities in partnering with Gas South to provide our residents with discounts on their natural gas,” Milton’s mayor Joe Lockwood said in a statement.

Gas South has similar partnerships with 13 municipalities, five corporations and two county partners throughout the state of Georgia. Milton is the eighth city or jurisdiction in Fulton County to partner with Gas South.

Existing Milton customers may also take advantage of the discount by calling the Gas South Customer Care Center or enrolling online. For more information about the program, visit gas-south.com/milton.
