UPDATE: The restaurant has since been re-inspected twice. It scored a 77/C Sept. 29, with officials noting heavy fly activity again. It scored a 98/A when inspected Oct. 3.
ORIGINAL STORY: A popular New Orleans-inspired restaurant failed a recent health inspection, with officials noting "heavy mold and mildew buildup" inside an ice machine.
The Front Page News location at 1104 Crescent Ave., in Midtown, scored a 58/U following the Wednesday evaluation. There is also a location in Little Five Points.
According to the report, there was "heavy fly activity throughout entire facility."
Officials also reported heavy rust buildup on a can opener blade and food debris on clean plates at the cookline.
A man who answered the phone at Front Page News Friday afternoon said the general manager was not immediately available for comment.
Follow-up inspections are generally completed within 10 days of the original evaluation.
