Friends of English Avenue to address crime at town hall

Dec 1, 2010

The Friends of English Avenue, a group founded after the murder of Kathryn Johnston, will host a town hall meeting in her honor at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Lindsay Street Baptist Church, 550 Lindsay Street.

The meeting will be moderated by the organization’s co-founders John Gordon and the Rev. Anthony Motley, and feature Atlanta Police Chief George Turner; United State Attorney Sally Yates; councilmembers Ivory Young and Michael Julian Bond and community leader Mamie Moore.

A candle vigil will be held at the former residence of Johnston, who was killed after a botched raid in 2006, following the meeting.
