Dunwoody’s “Groovin’ on the Green” concert series is back for another summer.

The free shows start this Saturday, June 8, at Pernoshal Park, located at 4575 N. Shallowford Road.

Josh Gilbert Band, a singer-songwriter group with an adult contemporary sound, is kicking off the series. The band performs genres including Southern rock/pop, Americana, folk and country.

Saturday, July 13 will feature Emerald Empire Band, known for their high energy performances and covers.

The Wheelers wrap up the series on Saturday, Aug. 10. This concert will include a special back-to-school ice cream social.

The concerts run from 6 to 9 p.m. Food and drink trucks will be set up during the shows, along with yard games and giveaways. It’s the second year of “Groovin’ on the Green.”

“After seeing so many families come together to enjoy music in our newest park last summer, we knew we had to bring the concert series back in 2019,” Dunwoody Recreation Program Supervisor Rachel Waldron said in a statement.

Elsewhere in the city, the Dunwoody Nature Center is putting on its own summer concert series through the end of July.
