For the rest of this month, DeKalb is inviting families to gather at parks across the county for free outdoor movies.

The “Movie in the Park” series begins this week, with showings on Tuesday, July 9 and Thursday, July 11. Then, the events run every Tuesday until July 30.

Each movie is rated PG-13 and will begin around 8:30 p.m., the county said. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and food.

Here is a list of which movies you can catch around DeKalb County this month:

  • July 9: "Spiderman: Homecoming," at Redan Recreation Center, 1839 Phillips Road, Lithonia
  • July 11: "Incredibles 2," at Bouldercrest Park, 4184 Bouldercrest Park Road, Ellenwood
  • July 16: "Captain Marvel," at Exchange Splash Pad, 2771 Columbia Dr., Decatur (The splash pad will stay open until 8 p.m.)
  • July 23: "Aquaman," at Mason Mill Park, 1340 McConnell Dr., Decatur
  • July 30: "Bumblebee," at Browns Mill Aquatic Facility, 5101 Browns Mill Road, Lithonia (The aquatic center will be free after 8 p.m. and will remain open until the movie is over.)
