For free, almost daily drive-through food box distributions are available in Mableton.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays at the Family Life Restoration Center, 6105 Mableton Parkway, Mableton.

Remain in your car and open the trunk when it’s your turn in line.

No appointments are needed.

Also, hot lunches are served from noon to 3 p.m. every Friday.

Fresh fruit and vegetables are given away from noon to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.

“We’ve heard so many stories from people who say that they are coming to a food bank for the first time,” the founder Luther Washington said in a news release.

“To those who say ‘I have always been a giver, and now I find myself in need,’ we know there are families who never needed the help, who could always afford food; but now they need it,” Washington added.
