A public meeting about the Franklin Road Redevelopment Bond will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Jay Whorton Room, Radisson Hotel, 1775 Parkway Place, Marietta by Marietta Mayor Steve Tumlin and the city council.

The agenda will include an update for residents, businesses and property owners on the redevelopment progress and to gather comments on the possible name change of Franklin Road to Gateway Boulevard.

After removing many of the deteriorating apartment complexes on Franklin Road, now Marietta officials are considering changing the name of Franklin Road to attract upscale developers to the area with that decision possibly coming on Nov. 11.

This name change would affect all of Franklin Road from Banberry Road to Cobb Parkway.
