Four Cobb County schools were locked down for about an hour Thursday after a woman reported that she had been attacked at a nearby park, according to police and school system officials.

Cobb County police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said a woman reported that she was attacked on the trail just inside the entrance to Harrison Park Thursday morning. She was taken to a hospital "to be checked out" while officers try to find the person who may have attacked her.

Cobb school system spokesman Jay Dillon said Lassiter High School, Mabry and Simpson middle schools, and Mountain View Elementary School were told to lock down around 10 a.m. but that order was lifted around 11 a.m
