Community Development Director Nick Colonna reported to the Duluth City Council meeting on Monday with recommendations to fill four open positions on the Duluth Public Art Commission. Collona and the DPAC Chair interviewed seven candidates for the two regular positions and two alternate positions are currently open. Of the alternate positions, one must be a business/non-resident and one must be an artist/resident.

Collona noted all candidates understand the value of collaboration needed to implement the Public Art Master Plan.

Those recommended for appointment include Arzell Thompson as alternate/artist, Bill Klett as alternate business/non-resident, Billy Smith as regular/resident and Tamara Hamlin as regular/resident.

The city council will formally vote to approve the recommendations May 11.
