How much do we love the sculpture of Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt chatting on a park bench in The Society of the Four Arts’ sculpture garden? A lot, as it turns out. The Four Arts has raised $367,400 so far in its campaign to raise $400,000 to buy the life-like bronze by Lawrence Holofcener. Leading the way are residents Barbara and Randall Smith, who contributed $200,000.

Visitors love to have their pictures snapped between the figures. The sculpture’s popularity, and its connection to World War II and the many who served in the war, spurred the Four Arts to acquire the piece. All the other sculptures on its grounds were donated.
