Foundation contributes $22,000 to local charities

The Associated Credit Union Foundation has contributed $22,000 to two Gwinnett County charities.

The Norcross Co-Op Ministry and The Quinn House in Lawrenceville received $11,000 each. The Norcross Co-Op Ministry provides food, clothing, prescription medicine and financial assistance to people in crisis. It also hosts programs for English language learners and job searchers.

The Quinn House provides housing for the homeless and offers a 40-day drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. It’s also a food bank that assists families and senior citizens.

Atlanta among airports where FAA will cut flights due to shutdown

The U.S. Department of Transportation will cut flights by 10% across 40 of the nation’s busiest airports on Friday to alleviate pressure on air traffic controllers.
