Forsyth County residents will have an opportunity to review draft design standards for future residential construction in the county at an April 18 open house.

The event is set for 6 to 8 p.m. in Suite 220 of the county administration building, 110 E. Main St., Cumming. Officials will receive citizen feedback on proposed standards for single-family “Res2,” “Res3” and Res4” zoning districts. The open house follows two stakeholder listening sessions held in March.

The standards will apply to such items as exterior materials, windows, building orientation to street, building scale and disposition on lot, parking, site design, connectivity and walkability, landscaping, open space, lighting and accessory structures, officials said.

The Comprehensive Plan's Community Work Program, adopted by the Forsyth Board of Commissioners in 2017, calls for the development of new design and performance standards for the three residential zoning districts. Information: https://bit.ly/2IDGrZ0
