Forsyth County announced the completion of a state-of-the-art, Health & Wellness Center offering on-site medical services to Forsyth County employees, spouses, dependents and retirees currently enrolled in a county medical plan.

The 2,200-square-foot center, at 514 W. Maple St., Cumming, offers preventive health maintenance, immunizations, acute and primary care exams, screenings, specialty and diagnostic referrals, disease management, condition care-related information, an on-site prescription dispensary and an after-hours hotline, the county said.

“The center demonstrates the Board of Commissioners’ commitment to helping employees live their healthiest lives,” said Forsyth County Manager Eric Johnson. “By offering this resource, the county will also be able to better control the overall costs of the health care benefit.”

The facility has five exam rooms and is staffed by a nurse practitioner and medical assistant. Forsyth expects “a substantial return on its investment” after an estimated two-year period after the center’s opening, the county said.
