Forsyth County commissioners are holding a public meeting on the controversial idea of buying the Lanier Golf Course with county money Thursday, Feb. 25, at 6:30 p.m. at Mashburn Elementary School. The school is at 2777 Samples Road. The public will be able to hear about and comment on the proposal to use money for green space to buy the course.

The discussion has attracted opposition because of the proposed price of the land and the idea of the county getting into the business of running a golf course.
