Automated payment machines have been installed at the boat ramps of three Forsyth County parks on Lake Lanier. FORSYTH COUNTY

Users of Forsyth County Parks & Recreation boat ramps on Lake Lanier now can use automated payment machines to pay daily fees, according to a county announcement.

The machines accept debit and credit cards and have been installed at Charleston Park, 5850 Charleston Park Road; Six Mile Creek Park, 6020 Browns Bridge Road, and Young Deer Creek Park, 7300 Heard Road, officials said. The devices replace the old system of cash payments in envelopes for daily fees. They also can be used to buy annual passes.

Fees remain $5 per boat launch and $40 per annual pass. A 50% senior discount is available to persons over 55. Users must display a valid receipt or an annual pass card on their vehicle dashboards.

Annual pass purchasers will have seven days to redeem their receipts at the Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitor Center, 4075 Spot Road. Passes also can be purchased in person at the visitor center between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Information: https://bit.ly/2J5Jxb4
