A portion of the Big Creek Greenway in Forsyth County has been fixed after being heavily damaged during severe storms last month.

A tree toppled onto a boardwalked portion of the multi-use trail between mile 6.1 and 6.2 on March 21, forcing closure of that stretch. On March 29, county commissioners authorized Steele and Associates to move ahead with emergency repairs. About 125 feet of the boardwalk-including deck service, handrails and a layer of structural support-was removed and replaced.

The approximately $107,000 project finished up earlier this week.
