The Forsyth County Fire Department will hold an open house from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Monday, July 27, at Fire Station 1, 234 Castleberry Industrial Drive in downtown Cumming.

Department officials said it’s part of an ongoing effort to educate residents about what the fire department does and to provide fire prevention and emergency preparedness information. It follows an open house held in June at Fire Station 3, which was dubbed a success.

Several different activities are set, including the department’s Fire Safety House, which aims to teach kids and adults about kitchen safety, fire drills and smoke alarms in the home.
