Forsyth Countians will be able to weigh in on a proposed interchange at McGinnis Ferry Road and Ga. 400 during an upcoming informal session.

The multi-faceted project would be dominated by a full diamond interchange at McGinnis Ferry and Ga. 400. It would also add a northbound and southbound auxiliary lane on a stretch of Ga. 400 and tack on a stretch of an additional travel lane southbound. The project is just short of five miles in length, with 3.2 miles of that invested in Ga. 400 improvements and the rest in widening McGinnis Ferry Road and doing side street work. A 10-foot-wide multi-use path would also be incorporated.

The open house is set for 5 to 8 p.m. April 11 at the Fowler Park Recreation Center, 4110 Carolene Way, Cumming. It will be informal, with residents invited to show up, ask questions and weigh in at any time during the three-hour span.
