The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners has called a public hearing on extending a moratorium affecting certain future commercial development.

The hearing is to start at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Commissioner’s Meeting Room, Suite 220, Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 E. Main St., Cumming.

The public will have a chance to review and comment on extending until Sept. 6 an emergency moratorium on accepting land-use disturbance permits on properties that were zoned Highway Business and Commercial Business before Dec. 31, 2000, according to a hearing announcement.

The extension would allow the county time to consider amending its Unified Development Code "with respect to the performance standards and/or table of uses associated with … (these) zoning designations," an extension resolution says. Information: https://bit.ly/2wsK14k
