Forsyth County residents will have an opportunity to legally dispose of “corrosive, ignitable, toxic and/or reactive” chemicals and goods at a household hazardous waste collection day in November.

Hosted by Keep Forsyth County Beautiful, the Forsyth County Recycling and Solid Waste Department and the city of Cumming, the event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, in the Cumming Fairgrounds parking lot, 235 Castleberry Road. Information: https://bit.ly/2VPDdtj

Registration in advance and a printed confirmation are required. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at keepforsythcountybeautiful.org. Sign-ups will be first-come, first-served, up to the maximum number of materials or vehicles.

Acceptable items will include paints, cleaners, oils, fuels, batteries, fluorescent or HID light bulbs, herbicides and pesticides. Items not accepted will include medical waste, needles, ammunition, explosives and pharmaceuticals.
