Forsyth County had to postpone community input meetings on a future Matt Community Park Recreation Center because of the COVID-19 outbreak, but residents can still comment on the Parks and Recreation Department project. A digital survey has been posted online.

“We encourage all residents to complete the online survey to engage in the recreation center design process,” said Jim Pryor, Forsyth parks director.

The four-question survey asks residents whether the gym floor should be wood, synthetic or artificial turf, and what they'd like to see in fitness features, such as a walking/running track, cadio fitness area or aerobics studio; programming spaces, such as dance, gymnastics or arts/crafts studios; meeting spaces; and family amenities like showers, an outdoor patio or free WiFi. Matt Community Park opened in August 2016 at 6555 Wallace Tatum Road in northwest Forsyth. Six lighted tennis courts, a pavilion and new restrooms are currently under construction.
