The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners is set to sign off on a significant road project on Thursday.
Commissioners will consider giving final approval awarding a roughly $13.2 million bid to CMES Inc. for the widening of Union Hill/Mullinax Road from McFarland Parkway to just north of Ga. 9 at Post Road, a two-and-a-half mile stretch. The roadway will become a four-lane thoroughfare with a 20-foot raised median, sidewalks and turn lanes. The project is being paid for with SPLOST VI money.
Commissioners will also consider moving head with public hearings on proposed modification to the Forsyth County parks ordinance dealing specifically with enforcement, and weigh a possible change in the county alcohol ordinance dealing with seating requirements.
