Forsyth County will get five new election day polling places starting with the 2020 election cycle under changes approved this fall by the Forsyth Board of Voter Registrations and Elections.

The board approved precinct and polling place changes Oct. 1, according to a county announcement. New precinct cards will be mailed to affected residents by year's end.

“These approved changes will improve the voting process for residents,” said Mandi Smith, Forsyth voter registrations and elections director. “We encourage all residents to review the changes to ensure that they know where they will be voting in 2020.”

Additional precinct boundary changes will be discussed at an elections board meeting at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at Voter Registrations and Elections, 1201 Sawnee Drive, Cumming.
