The Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Board has sent a slate of recommended hikes in non-resident park and recreation usage fees to county commissioners for consideration.

Board members settled at a recent meeting on having athletic booster clubs pay Forsyth County $150 per player/per season for non-resident sport participants, versus $20 for residents.

For non-residents, picnic shelter reservations would jump to $150 per day and community building reservations would cost $300 daily, double that of the resident charge. And for park and recreation programs, the non-resident fee for various signups would be double that of the applicable charge for county residents.

The board decided to keep non-resident recreation center memberships at $120 a year with a $120 annual renewal. Residents pay $10 and $5.

A county spokeswoman said she’s not sure when commissioners will consider the recommendations, which officials said will be revisited in a couple of years and which include no change in current resident usage fees.
