The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners is looking to fix a trash problem in northwest Forsyth County.

Commissioners approved issuing a request for proposals from companies interested in doing as-needed trash pickup along Ga. 369 in northwest Forsyth County and other roadway stretches. Commissioners have been told that trash flying from vehicles headed to a nearby private landfill has become a problem along Ga. 369, also known as Matt Highway, west of Ga. 400.

Commissioners also late last week approved a series of changes to the county’s tree protection ordinance, including requiring a minimum of two trees per lot in new residential subdivisions. At least one of those trees would be placed in the front yard.
